It was described as “tragic and deeply disturbing.” It unfolded in Pensacola, involving a US Navy police officer. It also involved the single mother whose body washed up in a duffel bag. Her 4-year-old son never saw her again.

Pensacola Police Lieutenant Jon Thacker was the detective assigned to the 2009 murder case. He will be our guest speaker at the next meeting of the Pensacola Police Historic Society Meeting. We will meet on Monday night, September 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Pensacola Police Training Room, 711 N. Hayne Street.
As horrible as this crime was, it shows the tenacity of the Pensacola Police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service to track down a killer.
See you there!
