By Mike Simmons

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

What?  Pensacola Police Historic Society meeting

When?  Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM

Where? Pensacola Police Headquarters

You are invited to attend a special meeting of the Pensacola Police Historic Society. Our own Richard Wood will be speaking. Many don’t know this, but Richard is a local historian and a published author. Richard says this about himself:

“I have no background in law enforcement. I was in the Air Force for 15 years and worked on supply boats in the Gulf for almost 25 years, ending with a Master’s License (vessel Captain and also Mate positions). I love our local history, including our true crime and the influence both the good guys and bad guys had on our little slice of the Gulf Coast.”

Richard will be speaking on the subject of one of his books, entitled “The Lonely Heart of Martha Beck,” which has ties to the Pensacola Police Department.

HE WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OF HIS BOOKS WITH HIM FOR SALE – $10 each; cash or Venmo.

We will also be discussing some fundraisers and upcoming events.

So, bring yourselves and someone else!

Mike
